Twitter, now known as “X,” has introduced new subscription tiers. The company is offering a “Premium+ tier” at $16 per month, which eliminates ads from users’ timelines and offers additional perks, including a blue checkmark. There is also a lower-cost “basic” tier for $3 per month.
These new subscription plans come as Twitter’s advertising business has declined, making the company increasingly reliant on subscription revenue. Additionally, Twitter is testing a program in certain countries where new users are required to pay $1 per year to post and reply to tweets.
These subscription tiers aim to provide users with ad-free experiences and additional features, further diversifying Twitter’s revenue sources.
