The increase in Coronavirus cases shows no sign of slowing down in Tenerife. With two new cases, the total number of people affected by the Coronavirus has doubled overnight. Initially, an Italian doctor and his wife, who had been staying at the H10 Costa Adeje Palace, were transferred to the Nuestra Senora de la Candelaria University Hospital.
These two new patients have now been quarantined in the same hospital after testing positive for the virus on Tuesday. Consequently, more than a thousand tourists are effectively confined to the hotel for nearly two weeks, which is the virus’s incubation period.
Approximately one hundred tourists who checked in on Monday and had no contact with the Italian couple will be allowed to leave on Wednesday. The other guests will be subject to individual monitoring. Authorities have stated that these measures are necessary to control the spread of the virus. In the meantime, guests are confined to the hotel but are permitted to move around within the premises while wearing provided face masks.
